Yanzi!!! (Autograph session at HMV Heeren Shops)

17/12/2004, Friday

7am

woken up by Mohan to send arms

8am

Book out! (after 3 days mount)

9am

At Tampines, having Mcdonalds' with my "gay" friend, LG. Discovered that I only left $5.46 in my bank account after drawing out $20. All thanks to "you-know-who" who owes my money...

9am plus

Reached home. Took a nap...

12noon

Woke up, getting ready to go out...

1pm plus

Headed to HMV Heeren for Sun Yan Zi's Autograph Session!!!

2pm

reached HMV, enquiry about whether i can get the qutograph without the "HMV coupon", the answer is "NO!". Spent 1 whole hour wandering in the shop, considering to buy the SAME album or not... (so to get the coupon)

2.50pm

finally decided to buy another edition of the same album, "Stefanie" (this version with a bonus DVD). used up $26 for the album, only left $1 plus for bus, pathetic?

3pm

2 hours before the autograph session, the queue is already until the back of the building. Imagine what time they started queueing! They must have started yesterday... crazy fans (i'm also 1 of them lah :P), but i will also do so if I got the time. LOL!

3.10pm

the queue started standing and moving (I don't know for what-the-heck reason!)

4pm

the queue became a mess. All cramped together. I'm stuck to a position at the side of the stage. There's no way to see the stage, because there's a curtain. Maybe that's the disadvantage of queueing up for autograpgh, i say to myself...

5pm

the crowd become more cramped as we anticipate the arrival of Yanzi... everyone

5.20pm

Yanzi arrived. I have to raise my digital cam high to capture her (i'm too short lah!)... sad, mis-shot in the end...

5.30pm

the performance started. i'm still stuck at the side of the stage! :( grumble.... can't even see her (because of the curtains).... "Qi Shi Wo Le"!!! bo pian, have to listen to her behind curtains...

5.35pm

the security finally allowed us to go to the front of the stage. this is the 1st time i see her in person!!! so excited! she sang her 2nd song, "我的爱". And I got a few pictures of her (but not well-taken) despite being blocked by countless umbrellas in front of me. It's drizzling... after the song and some interview, the autograpgh sesssion started (HMV autograph session are always so short). There's some posters to be givewn away to fans who can sing her songs. Too bad the posters ran out before i got onto stage...

6.20pm

Finally, got her autograph after waiting for 2 hours and standing in rain for 1 hour plus. so HAPPY!!! but, i can only get autograph on 1 album because I only got 1 coupon, sad... got 1 free pokka aloe vera drink off stage as a reward... hehe...

7pm

reached home, mother told me to accompany her to go buy DVD recorder NOW! spend the rest of the night shopping at Carrefour and Best Denki at Plaza Singapura until 11pm plus!!! (carrefour got midnight sales, u see...)

December 22, 2004

Failure = more shit...

14/12/2004, Tuesday

8am, back at camp for duty... all the camp mate sa i'm crazy that I bought S.H.E Concert tickets. Well, wat can i say?

1 of my camp mates also propose that we go Merah (1 of our outpost) in rotation... i agreed immediately. Any way, does going Merah really matters so much that have to make it so serious? I'm ok with anything... Just hope that I can end NS earlier... 7 months to go... (hopefully)

later, in the afternoon, the security audit intrusion finally came to Changi West(I am at Merah at that time). The sad news is we failed the audit... who tell them to put the slackest people on duty? I don't wish to mention the details... Basically, it's a test conducted by outside agencies (HQ FDS) to test the security level of our camp by bringing in a fake bomb... after the incident, everyone is being reprimand (or scolded)... from CO down to OC, PC and RPs (us)... it's a sad day for all of us. S3 blamed the failure to fatigue (tiredness) and suggest to have more training. which means the duty schedule has to be changed (again?)... Instead of mounting 2 days, , standby 1 day, dismount 1 day. He wants mounting 2 days, dismount 1 day, standby 1 day... which means an increase in ttransportation fees and time... sad news... but it's yet to be confirmed...

duties all day...

15/12/2004, Wednesday

Normal Boring duties, have to do extra duty again due to manpower shortage... watched a few VCDs, "Band of Brothers" and "King of Gamblers 2 in Shang Hai" (something like that lah...)

new bunk!

16/12/2004, Thursday

back to base for duty... got 2.5 duties, not so xiong... There's another room opened up for us to sleep in, which is the former PC office... (PC office shifted to OC office, u see). The aircon there is just nice, very nice to sleep in... hope this kind of amenities qill be available to us in the future...
A Wedding Dinner...

12/12/2004, Sunday

book out in the morning around 10.30am... 2 days off! Hurray! went to Mc alone to have hotcakes for "lunch"... I happily ordered a "Hotcakes with SAUSAGE Meal" (note the words "with sausage"), then the cashier told me to wait for the hotcakes and cofee... waited 15mins!!! Shouldn't fast food be fast? that's not the worst, the worst is when he gave me "Hotcakes WITHOUT sausage Meal"! it's too late when i realise the mistake... sian 0.5... this is not my day... after that, went to Music Junction to buy some accessories, and Popular to collect my catalouge and shop around...

it's 1pm plus when i reach home... slept for some time and surfed net until it's time to go for a relative's wedding dinner... we reached the venue arounf 8pm, we were late, thanks to my mother... It's my father's cousin's son's wedding... actually felt quite reluctant yo go, rather stay home to do my own stuff... But have to give my parents "face"... The dinner start around 9pm. As uusual you never fill your stomach in this kind of dinner (especially when the people on the same table are eating experts...) However, the shark fin's soup is nice... Also drank a cup of red wine and a cup of beer with my cousin... A bit high after the red wine, wonder how much is the alcohol content... let's talk about the couple, the groom (my relative's son) is a 27-years-old guy who look 10 years younger, and the bride is a jovial and neighbourhood-girl look person... went home around 10pm plus...

Another hole in my wallet...

13/12/2004, Monday

woke up around 10am, feel so great that I no need to book in today... went online, intending to book the <<S.H.E 奇幻乐园演唱会>> tickets... so happy that the $148 tickets are still available... the end, LG bought the tickets for the 3 of us... i've finally accomplish something i had planned for months... but the $$$ i paid felt like a wound in my chest... I never expect i will spend so much on such luxury... But it's worth it, hope the concert will be an exciting 1...

After that, went downstairs to buy lunch and some groceries... Then, after hearing from calvin that the Sun Yan Zi Autograph session (this friday) needs a HMV coupon, I FLEE to HMV Herren to check out the details... sadly, the staff there told me that I had to buy the SAME album to get THE COUPON (so i can get the autograph)... SADX3... After much consideration, I decided not to buy, but instead, I bought 2 VCDs, "Briget Jones' Diary" and "Looney Tunes: Back in Action"... me also dun noe why i buy them... waste money again... (RECOMMENDATION: HMV is a good place to shop for English Movie VCDs, they sell at less than $10)... and ya, also got a chance to liften to Angela Zhang Shao Han's new album, "Aurora"... a bit tempted to buy, but drop the idea in the end...

After shopping at HMV, went to KFC for dinner... Then, walk around Best Denki, POpular and finally bought some bread and dinner home... reached home around 9pm, just in time to watch "野蛮亲家"... went to sleep after watching S.H.E on "Shi Zhi Lu Kou" and done some blogging... zzz...

relax...

08/12/2004, Wednesday

book out around 4.30pm... got pple jio me to cheong at zouk, but none seems to be interested, so cancelled in the end... it's end of the month by the way, nobody had enough cash for that... spend the whole night relaxing at home... watching TV, surfing net, reading blogs, checking mails, planning my next year schedule, and typing my own blogs... slept at 5am...

National Treasure, it's not the treasure that matters...

09/12/2004, Thursday

went out at 11.20am, got a haircut appointment at 12noon... reached Kimage Hairdressing School (salon) right on time... don't misunderstand, salon doesn't necessarily charge u high fees... i only paid $5.25 to serve as a "guinea pig" for trainees... got a hair wash, then started cutting... that cockster trainee left a protruding part on my hair... luckily, there's always a teacher come to rescue my hair at the end of the session... in the end, got a quite decent haircut... shop around a bookshop named "Stationary Superstore" at there (Funan IT Mall)... it's a shop with a lot of varieties of stationary, and some quite cheap...

after that, met up with my camp mates at 2pm to watch the movie, "National Treasure"... bought the 4.10pm tickets... spent 2 hours loittering around, played para para at arcade (teenage girls eyeing on the machine i playing), look look at best denki (looking for a suitable dvd recorder for my mother), look look at toys shops (saw a cute-cute glow-in-the-dark wrist rest), and shop around carrefour... then the show started... the show is about how a legandary treasure revolving around American History, is being dicovered by Nicolas Cage (and others) after solving lots of clues... my review: great show! good plot, great actions, clever clues... however, i only understand 10% of the american history mentioned in the movie, forgive my ignorance... definitely a show worth to watch... after the show, nobody accompany me for dinner again... so we went separate ways... after watching yan kit and mohan played AVP (alien vs predator) for 1 hour, i gave up... then, bought dinner for myself and my mother, and went home...

reached home around 9pm, watched TV, wrote blogs, surfed net, played games and downloaded lots of stuff from "The Incredibles" website (http://www.theincredibles.com) (got addicted to it after the movie...).... it's 3am when i slept...
went to NUH...

05/12/2004, Sunday

book out in the morning about 8am plus, after 3 days of boring duties... got a call from my mother, saying my "ah pei" (Eldest Uncle, also my father's brother) is being hospitalise... I had to accompany her to visit him in the afternoon... seems like i can't keep the day to myself again...

Reached NUH by taxi at 1.30pm... and coincidently saw my "ah ma" (grandmother) and "da gu" (Eldest auntie) at the foodcourt... my mother wanted to wait for my another auntie (my uncle's wife) to come and visit my uncle together... why? i also dun noe, din bother to ask anyway... so we waited, waited and waited... ate kaya toast, 2 half-boiled eggs, listening to the don't-know-what-they-say conversation (because mostly in Teochew) among my da gu, ah ma and mother, and also my grandmother's ever-repeating stories... it's 3.30pm when my mother finally gave up waiting... so my mother, brother and me went up to ward 64 at level 6... discovered that all the wards in NUH at actually in the same building... saw my uncle in a 8-bed ward... he looks quite ok... he still waitng for a thorough x-ray tomolo on his stomach, so still dun noe what's wrong with him... hope he's alright... my mother kept talking and talking non-stop for hours... what can i say? i have to wait for her... luckily, being a RP, i'm trained in standing for hours... it's 6pm when we left...

Dai Di Time!

30/11/2004, Tuesday

Book out at 5pm, headed home... Intended to go to my buddy (Kok Tim) house to camp overnight (just to play dai di(Big2))... Actually, a bit sleepy, a bit dun wan to go... But everyone seems so excited abt it, and a promise is a promise. So I met them at 8.45pm, I'm 45 minutes late (pai seh...)... played with KT's dog for some time, watched 9pm drama and surf net (while others played PS2)... it's past midnight when we actually started the Big2 game (and half of the tidbits are already gone)... played all the way until 4am plus (at the same time watched Guess3 and listened to MP3s)... there's only 1 winner (the host) and 3 losers (including me)... i lost $12.20... not my day... 4am plus, the rest went to sleep, while i'm still playing a computer mahjong game (Ming Xing San Que Yi 2002)... i only slept around 6am... yawn...zzzzzz...

The Singapore IDOL - Taufik Batisah

01/12/2004, Wednesday

never had enough sleep, so stayed home for the whole day... anyway, I wanted to watch the Singapore Idol Finals... (Actually, I only started watching when there's the Final 4)... The show is awesome! all the singings and atmposhere... the part i like most is when the 11 finalists were on stage together to sing a series of songs... this proves that each finalist have their area of expertise... And the song I like best is the new song, "I Dream" (singing by Sly is better)... I was shock when Taufik wins the competition! Actually I expect Sly to win simply because he's the more popular 1... (frankly speaking, i like sly better) Nevertheless, I think Taufik deserved to be the 1st Singapore Idol, he's the 1 with the more versatile vocal... and actually, Sly seems like have a bad throat that day... congrats to both of them and welcome to the complicated (and ugly) world of entertainment industry... really hope their 1st album will come out soon...

Warcraft!!!

26/11/2004, Friday

Book out at 4.30pm, went to have dinner at Tampines ALONE again... while having dinner, received a call from liang... He asked me out with my poly friends... seems like have to waste money again... but nvm, it's worth it...

the meeting is set at 7pm... liang told me to reach around 7.30pm, coz others will be late... but despite reaching only at 7.30pm, i am the earliest to reach, what the heck! waited aimlessly until they reach abt 8pm plus... the original is to watch movie, but they say cannot get good seats now liao... wat lame excuse... Guess they don't really want to watch movie, so went to play LAN game (Warcraft III) in the end... which is not really my interest, but i played along... it's 3am in the middle of the night when they FINALLY decided to go... spent over $10 on LAN game, and $3 on night rider, for something u not interested in, wat to do? all for friends...

The Incredibles!!!

27/11/2004, Saturday

slept at 4am, but woke up at 11am... yawn! going out again, an outing we had planned months ago with wei sheng and wen cai (primary school friends)... suppose to meet them at 1pm, but i'm late... after lunch, I rush to Sunlight KTV (cuppage plaza) to secure the KTV room while wei sheng and wen cai (WW) bought the 7.30pm movie tickets... WW came after a while. We sang all the way from 2pm to 6pm (luckily i got a voucher, each only paid $12) Surprisingly, got the song 搁浅 by 周杰伦 (Jay Chou). And also got the chance to sing 明明很爱你 by 黄品冠 and 梁静茹 (too bad i sang alone). but I wasn't on form, my troat is a bit "rough".

After KTV, we went back to cineleisure for the movie... Had dinner at Burger King (using discount coupons, hehe :D). seems like Burger King is the most popular fast food there, we have to wait for some time to get a seat...

The show, "The Incredibles" started at 7.30pm... finally, i got the chance to watch this 4-star rating show... my other friends rather download the movie, they say it's waste of money to watch in threatres... The story is good, The animations is fantastic, and the jokes are great!!! However, Sherk 2 is funnier. This is a MUST-SEE show (i'm refering to incredibles, of course)... (although it's an animation, it got 4-star ratings from local newspapers)... my favourite character is "Violet", wat's yours? after the show, we went straight home (we live near each other)... reached home around 10pm plus...

Turnout! (again?)

22/11/2004, Monday

10am plus, just came from 2 days duty from merah. somebody contracted chicken pox (lucky guy, got 2 weeks att c). so we are forced to do a thorough area cleaning by PC samuel (again?). we did area cleaning from noon to 3pm, but PC samuel is still not satisfied. What the heck! he wants us to carry on until he's satisfied! he thinks we got a lot of time to rest ah? 3pm, half of us have to go for duty, i'm 1 of the few lucky (or unlucky) guys who didn't have duty now... Mohan told us that PC wants us to fall in, but nobody responded, some say don't know about it, some (including me) simply heck care. so after some time, as expected, he turnout us again... He made us do 40 push-ups and ran 2 rounds around the hangar. He said he dislike people disobeying him, he din even realise the problem lies in himself! he said he want another stand-by-area in 15 minutes, if still not clean, he will turnout us every night! sadist rite?

later in evening, somebody complained to OC about this. And asked me to talk to OC also, because i'm 1 of the few who kena PC's punishment. I said the truth and what i felt abt this... I felt (at least myself) had done the best in the area cleaning, but PC samuel still likes to pick on little things... sometimes i wonder is that he don't like us, pr is it he loved his job too much. yet, he say we don't know how to think. wat I think is "If you want someone to respect you, don't do it the hard way, but punish when things get out of control." He can't make friends in the society if he carry on like this...

Geylang, Geylang!

23/11/2004, Tuesday

book out in the morning, only 1 pathetic day off... at first, wanted to stayed at home to save some money, but my camp mates jio me out again... they say wan to go geylang to have some food... met them at 5pm at aljunied mrt... it was having quite a downpour... so we have to share umbrellas and overcome numerous "lorongs" to reach our final destination, You Tiao Da Wang (King of You Tiao)... it's at near lorong 9 and 11... being the only who had come here b4, i introduced some food to them, the you tiao, soya bean curd and "guo tie" (something like dumplings)... it's not as fresh and delicious as i ate last time, maybe because they cooked beforehand and left aside for too long... and yah, have to thank LG for treating us... we left there ard 6pm plus... and on our way to take a bus, we saw PC Leo! he's a quite garang PC who had ORD some time ago... seems like he adopt an "ah-beng" look nowadays... went to play pool after that at Grand Link shopping centre near paya lebar mrt... and played para para also... another disciple came under my "School of Para Para", LG Tan... went home about 9pm...
The Long-waited Gathering

18/11/2004, Thursday

book out at 4.30pm. Had an appointment with my FYP mates and supervisor at 7pm, so have to rush home... luckily, i'm released earlieror else i have to take a cab, that will cost a lot... I was a bit late when i reach suntec but i'm not the latest, that's a relief... ch is already there... yan came shortly, followed by our lecturer(also FYP supervisor), Mr. Ronnie Peh. it's been over a year since we last met, the last time is few days b4 my enlistment... that's because he went London to purse his masters in bio-informatics (something like that lah). He still in his usual self. A vegetarian and healthy-looking guy who loves sports. always care for others and selflessly share all his knowledge... shuang took time to join us for dinner, despite her work at Motorshow.

we went Cafe Cartel for dinner, i'm worried if there's vegetarian food for our beloved lecturer... as usual, he insisted of treating us, which makes us all so "pai seh"... we chatted non-stop for hours there about everything, our life during this year, army stuff, the girls' jobs, and the incident in SP... cong came ard 8pm plus... we stayed ther until 10pm, to wait for shuang to knock off from work... then we decided to go some where else for a drink... the problem is decided where to go when we are in the car!!! LOL! we went to boat quay in the end. and i told them i got drunk few days ago here... they are not really into drinking, some have to wake up early tomolo. so we settled down at Coffee Bean in the end... ch, cong and me treated the girls and our lecturer the drinks, had my favourite ice-blended mocha myself... it was 11pm plus when we headed home. (our lecturer sent us home)... haven recover from the torturement samuel yesterday... damm tired

Creativex Festival

19/11/2004, Friday

meeting my camp mates as usual, going to the Creativex Festival (warehouse sales) at it's HQ at Jurong East, International Business Park. we suppose to meet at 1pm. but except for zw, all are at least 1 hour late... so went to Popular Bookshop to shop for a suitable CD holder to hold my original CDs and lyrics... Mohan and Yan Kit came after that... the shuttle bus is crowded with money-minded singaporeans.. so we took cab to there, anyway it's only $3 (shared among 4 person)... 1st thing i see there is people carrying "big bag, small bag"... Also is my 1st time witness people camp overnight to queue up for tomolo's star buy... seen a lot of products selling at unbelievable price. What really attracts me is the N200 and Zen Micro mp3 players... so tempted, but no money to buy... sad... only Mohan bought a V200 in the end, saying he supports FDS (there's a armoured vehicle named V200 in our camp).

Mohan left us after that to test out his new toy... 3 of us decided to watch "The Forgotten". it's not as good as i think, it's a science fiction thrillerwith a rather strange ending. an average show, not worth $8.50. but the movie shows that mother's love to children is unbreakable. went home around 9pm. tomolo have to book in again for 3 days duty, boring...

December 01, 2004

Turnout! Turnout!

17/11/2004, Wednesday

back to base for duty. routine work. boring life. turnout at 1am plus... not enough sleep again... PC say Golf (gate duty) personnels open the gates late by 2 minutes and use handphone duty on duty, so he want to see if we will disappoint him also... what a lame reason... for starters, he told us to run 2 rounds around the hangar with rifle over head (in SBO, of course)... he say that's the punishment for reacting "slow" to turnout... then 40 push ups, for another lame reason (which i 4got)... the main course of the day, we had fire drill, followed by intruder drill. Intruder drill is like playing real-life CS, we have to nail the intruder (PC himself) down... everything ended around 2am plus... sad, later still have to wake up for flag raising and duty at 5am plus...

2LT Samuel See Kok Chow, he's quite sadist and over garang... likes to book in in the middle of the night, and make life difficult for others.. thinks he got a lot of authority... they give him nick names like PC'C' and san mao, i juz call him samuel, nobody likes him, even the sergeants. What i think is, "Rank is what you wear, respect is what you earn.", he apparently don't believe in this... some of us think his actions is because MAYBE he's being abused during his childhood... who knows??? luckily i heard he's going to ORD soon, let's hope for the best...
Home Alone

15/11/2004, Monday

woke up at 10.30am... strange, I usually don't wake up so early after drinking... some more I wake up by myself! after washing up, I remembered have to help my mother record a TV show. so I started recording and then lied motionless on the sofa... trying to recover from my headache.. it's 2, 3pm when i fully recover. suppose to start studying for tomolo's Basic Theory Test (BTT), but too lazy to do so, anyway I cant study in this state... "What can I do now?", I ask myself. yah, i can watch the VCDs I bought yesterday.. it's so great to be home alone... firstly, watched the bonus VCD that comes with S.H.E "Encore安可" album... the VCD includes the 候鸟 MV and the shooting progress of the MVs and album photographs... S.H.E is so pretty, cute and funny!!! but what really makes is because they have their own character, always show their true self, and dare to voice out... well, of course, they also have great voices (that's y it's worth it to buy the CD)... the next VCD i watched is the movie "Pay Check". it's a good science-fiction thriller, with a great script... and then spent the rest of the day slacking around... it's midnight when i finally started studying for BTT.. slept at 2am.. zzzzzzzzzz...

Class 3 Basic Theory Test

16/11/2004, Tuesday

wake up in the morning... got basic theory test (for class 3, of course) in the afternoon. (took a leave for this, that's y no need to book in) reached BBDC (Bukit Batok Driving Centre) at around 1pm... conincidently met Kai Xun, Qing Shun and Kelvin Tan (camp mates) there, they are enrolling for class 3... LG came after some time, he's taking the test with me... done some last-minute studying in the canteenas we are about to go to the test venue, we saw a notice "please bring a blue pen for the test"!!! as we are told that the test will be a computerised 1, we are not sure the notice is true or not... after enquiry, they say the test is hand-written (coz the system is not up yet)!!! damm BBDC, din inform us beforehand... luckily the canteen sells blue pens... the test started around 2.15pm... it's suppose to last 1 hour, but some how the invigilator's watch got problem, he gave less than 1 hr! I still have 15 questions left when he say 15 minutes left! luckily i can finish in time, or i will hate the invigilator! looking back, besides a few tricky questions, i'm quite confident i got the other questions right... so think i can pass (hopefully)...

after the test, went to loitter around at west mall, because meeting jun xie at 7.45pm... loittering aimlessly for more than 3 hours is really a tough job... then finally met jun xie 7.45pm at Raffles Place MRT... he say want to introduce me a business... it's quite a new company with good potential, but I still need to consider because i'm facing serious financial problems... reach home near to midnight, damm tired...

November 28, 2004

ying yong...
14/11/2004, Sunday, Hari Raya Puasa

book out in the morning, no need to go back camp in 3 days!!! hahaha!!! today, my mother, brother and sister are going malaysia while my father is still in China... that means i'm home alone!!! Yeah!!! LOL! i can do wateva thing i wan!

In the afternoon, met boon kiat (poly friend) for lunch at Taka to pass him a windows xp cd... we talked quite a while over lunch, he told me he's passing out as a sergeant next week!!! congrats to him, while i'm stuck as a corporal (but not treated as 1!!!)

after lunch, we went walk walk at HMV, while i collect my pre-ordered S.H.E "Encore安可" CD... the main hits are 候鸟 and 痛快... but what i think all the songs are nice, and makes me listen to it again and again... and yah, i saw a VCD i wanted to buy long long ago, selling at less than $10, Pay Check by Ben Affleck. bk left after that, i still have to wait for my camp mates to meet at 5.30pm... so i carry on loittering at orchard... went to cineleisure sembawang music centre to look for some great deals and saw some cds selling at $9.90! (old ones of course) After much choosing, I bought Sun Yan Zi's 1st album titled "Yan Zi"... went to lucky plaza after that, for a haircut at QB house... then went orchard MRT Popular bookshop to shop for a organizer... bought a B8 size 1 at $8.90, quite cheap...

finally met my camp mates at 5.30pm, surprisingly all are punctual, except for "senior" CPL Tan LG... too bad my buddy cant come... we went to lido to buy tickets for the show "Taxi".. while waiting for the show to start, we went for dinner and look around... I bought dinner for Subway for dinner, got a feeling that i'm being cheated... it's so ex, yet the quantity is so little... especially the chips (it's a small packet of chips)... then we went Isetan and saw quite a number of good deals on sports apparels.

The show started at 7.30pm... it's on how a lousy cop and a taxi driver (with excellent driving skills) nail down a bunch of sexy robbers. The driving scences are exciting and the conversations are damm funny... Great show! I give it 5 stars for entertainment value...

after which we decided to go drinking (alcohol, of course) at Boat Quay... the strange thing is nobody knows how to get there... so we blindly took MRT to clarke quay. then walk around in all directions to look for boat quay... luckily, we found it...

we walk up and down the shophouses of pubs and finally settle down at "Stella Artois" (Noel's recommendation). The ambience is not bad... beautiful scenary and music not bad... however, i prefer zouk, where i can dance... i prefer dancing than drinking.. we share a bottle of Absolute Vodka (with coke and sprite) at first... i drank 3 cups of mixed vodka, i already felt quite high... maybe because i mixed too little... then we went inside the pub (we initially are sitting outsideand i don't know who the hell ordered a bottle of Jim Beam... after a few cups, i feel so high that my head is 1 ton heavier... Then i started to everywhere, in the toilet, on the table, and in the cups... and so is everyone (even the most zai drinker)... it's 1am plus everyone "buay ta han" liao and left the pub... surprisingly, I stil can guide the taxi driver to my home.. it's 2am when i reach home... luckily, my mother's not around, or i will be dead meat... it's after everthing that i discover we each spent $65 on the drinks... it's the most expensive price i paid on alcohol... but that's quite a fun nite...

11/11/2004, Thursday

book out in the morning after 3 days of duties and only got 1 pathetic off day... ji hao (my final year project mate) invited me over for a birthday buffet at his house... sort-of rush to his house and I was late again... luckily i'm not the latest... well, frankly speaking it's quite boring... played dai di (Big2) there while waiting for some of the guests to come... sick of winning all the time (hehe... kidding...)... but overall the food was great and i get to catch up with some of his friends which i know (i.e. Acquitances)... when all guests came, the cake-cutting ceremony begins and we sang the song of course... then it rained heavily again, and we cannot leave... after the rain, we went for dinner at the nearby bukit timah food centre, but chong hwee went home 1st... then found out that quite a few of them are going to the S.H.E and Jay's concert... should i go??? where can i get the money? that's a "chim" question...

headed to orchard after that... sad, the QB house is closed at 7pm on public holidays... guess i have to cut my hair next dismount... nvm, went to HMV to pre-order S.H.E new album titled "Encore", which will be release tomolo, paid $22.90 for it... but i have to go back camp tomolo... bo bian, can only collect on 14th...

06/11/2004, Saturday and

07/11/2004, Sunday

yeah!!! dismount 2 days!! but actually i kinda forgot wat i had done these 2 days... think i stayed home and rot... coz not much $$$ left in bank... cant even buy the new S.H.E cd... sad case... but still got the new album of Sun Yan Zi titled "Stefanie" accompanying me... great music...

Early Morning

Have to wake up early in the morning at 7am... yawnz... Need to bring my uncle Tan Tock Seng Hospital for blood test. Took cab from home to Jalan Besar, then from there to TTSH. Then discover it's the wrong place when we ask the staff there... damm irresponsible driver... so took a cab again to right place, Communicable Disease Centre (ya, it's the place where they house SARS patients... )... reached there at around 9.40am, he took the test, and we have to wait 2 hours for the results... meanwhile, we went to Pek Kio (Cambridge Road) for some food... the chicken rice there quite cheap ($2) and good (nice and in large quantity)...

The results came out at around 11.40am... the doctor asked him to go for chest xray... so, have to wait again... meanwhile, my mother and I went to see the social worker (bo bian, she insisted)... she want to apply for some financial assistance... so she told the social worker her ENTIRE life story (like what I had heard from her everyday)... and as usual she always repeats her sentences... i'm already used to it, but i think the social worker "bua ta han" liao... but she must act like listening...

Afternoon

After meeting the social worker, I left 1st and headed to NTU b4 it's too late... going there to request a letter for my disruption... it's a long way to there, took MRT from newton to boon lay, then bus to NTU... reached there around 3pm, but took more than 1 hour (I think) to find the Office of Admission... NTU is really too big... moreover, it's raining cats and dogs... nvm, i get to know more abt the place now... but Sadly, when i FINALLY reach there, they tell me I have to write in to request for early admission... sad and sianz 1/2...

Evening

Afterwhich, supposingly meeting zhi wei and yan kit (camp mates) for a movie... but only yan kit turned out... feel so bad to let him travel all the way from punggol to jurong point... he thought of going home liao but i persuaded him to Shark Tale with me... got a feeling that I a bit took him for granted, guilty :P any way, it's a good movie (or should i say animation)... the actions and talking are all very funny... haven been laughing much recently...

Evening, 02/11/2004, Tuesday

Book out at 5pm. Have to go Jalan Besar (near lavender). my mother told me my uncle is sick and "force" me to go... of course, i cant disobey "Her Highness"'s instructions... This uncle of mine is my mother's younger brother. He lives at the void decks below HDB flats... and he sells 2nd hand goods (at the flea market nearby) as a living... he's the type of guy who don't like to work and like freedom... my primary role there is to help him translate some letters from cpf and hospital... and the rest of night i have to patiently wait for my mother to finish scolding my uncle... which attracts a lot of attention from the residents... damm tired after those turnouts in the day, left there arounf 10pm and headed home for rest...

November 08, 2004

29/10/2004, Friday

today is the 3rd day of mount (duty)... my body is getting tired but i'm looking forward to my precious dismount day... tomorrow is mohan's birthday, we celebrated today... according our tradition, birthday boy is often being stripped naked... i was part of the team... LOL!! luckily my birthday has already passed...

30/10/2004, Saturday

intending to meet my poly friends at 2pm to celebrate zr's birthday, but as usual, everyone is late... waited for 2 hours plus before everyone had reached... as usual loiter round for some time before deciding what to do... and finally decided to play LAN... but luck is not our side... not enough computers in the LAN shop... after some time, finally settled down and played warcraft III... we played until 11pm plus... had some food at long john silver and then headed home...
26/10/2004, Tuesday

woke up early in the morning to confirm got go out or not... nobody seems to be intrested in ice skating... so the outing is again called off... never mind, can save money also... on my computer, check emails, read blogs and check out some banking info... then decided to go Clementi, intending open an OCBC account to keep my savings... but kanna rejected because the min. initial deposit for a passbook account is $500!!! where can i find the money??? however i could open another type of account, but need to show proof that i have less than $2000 monthly income... so didn't open account in the end... went to nearby KFC to have lunch, and realised it had moved to the NTUC building... think it's been awhile since i last went Clementi...

thinking of where to go next while having lunch... maybe watch movie??? there's a lot of movies i want to watch, but nobody accompany me... guess my friends don't like to spend this kind of money since priacy is getting more popular in recent years... really don't wish to watch alone so tried my luck and called yan kit... surprisingly, he agreed... so i went to PS (plaza singapura) to meet him... we played in the arcade (played parapara as usual), then brought tickets and went to have some taiwanese "shi lin" fried chicken cutlet... the movie started at 6 plus, titled "The Manchurian Candidate"... quite a good show... a show about a group of soldiers being brainwash to believe someone is a national hero... quite worth it... maybe u should give it try...

25/10/2004, Monday

Woke up at 6am plus, got a duty at 7am... it's drizzling, then became heavy rain... so takeover is late again... takeover came around 9.30am, i almost going to KO... went back to flight hangar (=company line and bunk)... went to bed again and waiting to book out at 5pm...

soon being waken up to clear breakfast and had lunch... went back to sleep again but again disrupted by the announcement "Standby for Broadcast, Priority 1" Shit! turnout again... (priority 1 is a drill that's activated when there's aircraft diversion or bomb trap)... it's a drill that happens frequently due to incapability of the pilots (I think)... everything ended around 4pm... still have to wait for the obese guys to come back before we can go off at 5pm sharp...

book out at 5pm and headed to toa payoh ALONE (again?) to take my spectacles... things are really not going my way recently... reached the spectacles shop and received my specs... it's a frameless black pepsi brand specs... quite nice, too bad the lens is a bit thick... the boss claims that's it's already a high index lens, what can i say? bought dinner for my mother, and reached home around 8pm... damm tired, but MUST "Ren Wo Au You" (The Champion) before going to bed... still don't know tommorrow going out or not...zzzzzzzz...

woke up at 10am plus... normal day again... on my computer and checked my mails... and had lunch at 1pm plus... continued to use computer... read some of my friend's blogs and added some links on my blog... 4pm plus, go downstairs to help my mother buy some groceries and dinner?? yes, dinner... coz she say later nobody buying... i went to the fried kway teow stall i haven't gone for a long time... i used to buy lunch from him during secondary school days and sometimes during poly days... surprisingly, he stills remember my special order... fried kway teow without "dou ya", oyster and chilli... times really flies and i have to admit i have aged... had "dinner" and went to have a nap again... FDS changed my biological clock, u see...

woke up at 8pm plus... realise my friend called me just now to ask me out... i say no lah... i don't like to go out last minute... watched tv show half way, and my BMT buddy called me... we talked for quite long and he trying to sell me his California Gym Membership at $1000 for 2 years.. u say worth it or not??? i most probably cant accept it i told him, i cant afford this luxury at the moment, but i will help ask around...
2 days ago, 21/10/2004, Thursday

8am plus, woke up to cover duties for someone... coz i of us got fever last night and now att c (MC)... takeover came late again at 10.30am... load up rover and headed back to base... luckily i am not allocated duties on this standby day, or else i "chui" (collapse)... really tired... not enough sleep... went to sleep without having lunch... kanna woke up again at 1pm plus to listen to OC talk, turned out to be a prize giving ceremony for outstanding serviceman... wonder will i get it 1 day, hehe... then someone says we can book out at 3pm, hurray!! so we begin ration clearing and area cleaning at the fastest speed ever... (this is the time when we are most united..) it's 2.30pm by the time we finish, but PC says have to wait until 3pm... sianz 1/2...

book out at 3pm... and headed to toa payoh with 2 of my camp mates... for wat?? to make spectacles, coz my friend know the boss of a spectacles shop... hehe.. got discount... my buddy changed his lens at $55... for me, i choosed a new frameless specs and paid $170 for it... not bad... after that, we went to the nearby coffee shop to have dinner... my buddy call the coffeeshop "Re Yue Sheng Jiao" (Sun Moon Sect), coz there's a big crescent moon and star on the sign... he introduced me the laksa, but i din eat... coz i never liked spicy food... i had wan ton noodle, goreng pisang and a "sesame ball with peanuts", then shared a rojak with them... really full after that... after which, they went home and i went to buy kfc for my mother... then went Watson to shop a while... went home after that, it's already 8pm plus... really tired, so went to sleep after watching "Ren Wo Au You"...

3 days ago, 20/10/2004, Wednesday

2am, wake up for duty... really difficult to keep myself awake for 8 hours until 10am... this is known as the graveyard time slot... when people easily fall asleep...

10am... really tired... took a shower and went to sleep...

in FDS, a duty cycle starts 9am everyday and ends 9am the next day... so at 6pm, i have wake up again for 8 hours duty... really tired of this boring life... luckily i brought some books to read... 1 of them is "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki... a book that i had read for more than a year LOL!!! haha... too lazy to read sometimes and the author's writng skills is quite boring... however, the contents is great...

4 days ago, 19/10/2004, Tuesday

yawn... as usual, wake up at 5.30am on a mounting day... took a shower but still sleepy... took mrt and bus and reach base just in time... today, the schedule is going to change again... now we will be having 2-1-1, 2-1-1, 3-1 schedule... which means we have to do a 3 day duty every 3rd mount... sianz... wat to do?? this change is because of increased duties at runway 3 (1 of our outposts, we have 3 outposts)... but i think that change doesn't help much... don't know wat our OC is thinking... i rather go back to the 2-1 schedule... at least i can go back to my original shift... don't understand?? nvm lah... i'm just complaining about nothing... no need care about me...

checked up my detailing (duties for the day) and found that i'm going merah (another outpost)... hehe... many people is envy of me, every mount can go merah... y? because i'm merah IC mah... i need to be there... although merah duties is quite slack but the duties last for 8 hours... and because i am IC, a lot of responsibilties is pushed by my mates to me when sergeant is not around... really don't understand y they want to do so... today my duty starts at 2am, so i can rest 1st, but will get waken every now and then to open gates (1 of the duties), and have to do a 1-hour prowl at 6pm...

October 19, 2004

haiz... later have to book in again in the morning... juz pop by to share with you 2 songs i am learning to sing recently... both sang by 周杰伦... maybe u should try to learn and challenge me next time!

October 18, 2004

finally sit down and started to write my 1st blog after a year plus (14 months to be precise...) of stopping it... well... as some of u all have know... i had been serving NS for 14 months liao... and now suffering in changi air base as an RP (regimental policeman)... life gets boring-er and boring-er everyday and duties increases every month but the manpower remains the same... haiz... each day (24 hours) i will get 9 to 12 hours of duty... although it's not physically xiong, but i will be getting crazy 1 day if this continues... but at least there's more dismounts (offs) nowadays... it's like 2 1/2 days mount* (duties), and 1 1/2 days dismount*(off) (we call this 2-1-1 schedule)... to RPs, everday is the same, we also have to do duties on public holidays and weekends... wat to do?? life still carries on...

"Slack rite?" is wat most people say to me about my vocation... but who will understand our misery?? only RPs will..... well... enough of complains... let's talk about wat i done these 2 days...

Yesterday, 171004-->

book out around 11am, finally got 2 days off... because sunday no need to standby (stay from 8am to 5pm)... went home, have lunch, took a shower and went out to meet my camp mates for KTV session... we went Sunlight KTV at cuppage plaza, sang from 2pm to 6pm... quite enjoyable, but it will be better if there's girls :D LOL! there's 4 of us there, 1 of them must head home for dinner, so in the end we "go our separate ways"... there's not even 1 person want to accompany me for dinner... haiz... so i have to do wat i always do: go walk walk, see see ALONE on Orchard Road... strange rite?

so after saying good-byes, i headed for dinner at Cineleisure KFC... a new meal is on promotion, Tom Yam Chicken Meal... it's like putting tom yam seasoning on normal KFC crispy chicken, but at least not as bad as i thought lah... then i went to HMV in search of new albums and news on the album I have been waiting for 1 year: Sun Yan Zi's new album launching on 29th this month!! stayed at HMV until 1930hrs and left there empty-handed... went takashimaya after that to look out for promotions on spectacles (there's a lot of scratches on my specs. u see..)... but found nothing interesting...

so i went on my next objective: finding a good organizer... i went to books kinokuniya and then to Borders... cant find anything that suits my taste and budget, so ended up reading a book at Borders... The book is "Who Moved My Cheese?" by Dr. Spencer Johnson... i read the book halfway months ago, so i make it a point to finish the book before leaving... the book is about 2 mice and 2 littlepeople looking for cheese in a maze... morale of the story is to overcome your own fears and adapt to changes before it's too late... and stop blaming others for the change!! read more about it at Official Who Moved My Cheese? Website ... finished the book at 2245HRS, and headed home... watched the japanese drama "Shu4 Mu1 2 Ke4" on channel 8 and had a good laugh! then continued some variety shows on video tapes until 3am... yawn.. really tired...zzz...

Today, 181004-->

stayed home whole day... woke up at 10am to use computer... wanting to find out more about disruption from NS, but found nothing useful... btw, i got a place in Computer Engineering at NTU and decided to start the course earlier (i.e. next year) before i lost interest in studying... planning to help my mother clean up the living room in the afternoon but my mother says she wants to sleep, so didn't do it in the end... then watched the S.H.E "Together" VCD i've bought yesterday at $9.90... i asking myself, "why i wasting money again?"... but bo bian, i like S.H.E too much liao... especially Hebe!! then now i am here writing this blog.... hehe... hope u enjoy reading...

*Mount means staying in camp for 24 hours and doing 9 to 12 hours (normally) of duties a day and have to standby for any operations and react to it any time of the day

*Dismount means booking out for 24 hours (sometimes even lesser)

*Standby means staying in camp from 8am to 5pm, doing some duties and sometimes have physical training
